TITLE:

LABEL:
CATNO:

FORMAT:
Vinyl record
DESCRIPTION:
Released in 2006 but first time on vinyl outside of the US
N'Dea Davenport returns to the microphone on Get Used To It, and Ealing's Brand New Heavies sound delighted to have her lungs back in the building. Originally released in 2006, this reunion gives their acid jazz a generous soul-funk polish. 'Sex God' is particularly cheeky, Davenport's jazz-inflected phrasing getting encouragement from some gloriously overexcited horns. Steady on. 'I Don't Know Why (I Love You)' brings the wounded soul singing, whereas 'Let's Do It Again' makes the reunion itself sound like a very good excuse to dance.
