DESCRIPTION:
Darrk & Minimal 4 Track Deep House EP with Tech Flava's - The always pleasingly leftfield French maverick Pepe Bradock has been busy of late. Now he returns with a third instalment of his on going Dactylonomy series and again breaks all the rules.

Opener 'Major' is choppy house with knackered kciksand frazzled pads swirling round the groove. Next up is a more hunched over and heavy house kicker that is dark and filled with industrial texture. 'Finger-Snapped' is one of Bradock's most straight up house tunes for a while, and it bangs. The harmonies, garage-flecked drum work and wigged out synths all get you going, only for the closer to be a brilliantly raw stomper.

Pepe B, letting loose his wild side for a very experimental release on his own label. The third 'volume' of "Dactylonomy III" if you will, and very much fragrant with the rich, quirky, free expression of house music which the Frenchman has slowly concocted over the years.

"Major I" has thiiiiiick percussion slaps, weighty leads and an overall full frequency rubdown that'll tickle the stacks beautifully. Shunning any obvious passages of melody for a decidedly more adventurous route, the track's transportive and heady nature elevates it far beyond a strictly nightclub-orientated audiance. "Major II" sets to work with deep rumbles and distant sonars, the slowly encrouching lead stabs fizzing like wet phosphorous on the wax - parfait!

B side sees two instances of "Finger-Snapped". On the first, Bradock's weighty synth programming and skewiff yet enjoyable beats characterize the track. Delicate keys do swoon away in the background but its that upfront kick that'll grab you by the balls. "Finger-Snapped II" sees a growling, flat-lined techno experiment which demonstrates a sonic know-how, almost willingly turning tracks inside out and keeping you hanging on tenterhooks throughout. He honestly seems to get better with age! A pretty storming four tracks from house music's crazy French uncle. Recommended.

Pépé Bradock (real name Julien Auger), is a French DJ, producer, and remixer of the genre of house music. Pépé started making music at the age of 14 by learning to play guitar, and by playing in several jazz-funk bands around Paris. He also started DJing and producing tracks for several hip-hop groups in France as well. During the early 1990s, Pépé was exposed to the then-burgeoning rave scene, where he was exposed to the techno and house sub-genres of electronic music. This led him to record and produce tracks of his own, with his first two records being released on the BPM Records label under the name of "Trankilou", before using his current moniker. Pépé has also done remixes for fellow artists such as Cassius, Alex Gopher, and Blaze, among others, and has released tracks for such labels as Kif Recordings, and Versatile, as well as his own label, Atavisme. He is known in both his mixing as a DJ and producing for his mesmerizing and hypnotic style, which is well represented in his tracks such as Deep Burnt and Life, both becoming instant favorites with DJs and fans of house.
