4 Classy Re-edits / Reworks - Deep House & Nu-disco Cuts feta Rck James, Timmy Thomas + More
Wonky underground edits from Rev Bloo’s vaults, reviving multi genre dance gems with fresh tempos and new life.
The Body Edits series, which launched in some style last year, is reportedly the work of British house music veteran (and sometime Classic co-founder) Luke Solomon. Given his renowned mastery of dancefloor dynamics, it goes some way to explain the quality of the reworks on show. To begin volume two, Solomon serves up a scalpel style revision of what sounds like a horn-toting Rick James disco jam ('Feel Like Dancin'), before opting for sweat-soaked house beats, filthy acid bass, mind-mangling electronics and lo-fi bleeps on the seriously sleazy 'Wave Catcher'. Over on side B, 'Even Deeper Dub' is a squelch-along extension of a soaring, string-laden disco treat, while 'Live Together' successfully stretches and straightens out a Timmy Thomas favourite.
