DESCRIPTION:
Techno 2 Tracker OriginallY Releases in 2011 Repressed Dure to Demand - Blawan returns to R&S with a superb new single. What You Do With What You Have is another step up for the young producer, following the Bohla EP and his huge Getting Me Down white label. It takes a fundamental message from some KDJ spoken word and twists it through submerged acid lines, trademark driving percussion and classic techno stabs.

The way he works the vocal is simply amazing, and validates the fact that “It ain’t what you got, it is what you do with what you have.” Vibe Decorium on the flip is another twisted piece of acid house put through the Blawan blender, marking him out as one of the best producers around right now. As Mary Anne Hobbs says ‘He really is my favourite producer of the moment’. She has played What you Do... four weeks in a row ‘It is just such an inspired, raw and primal piece of work’.

Blawan is British-born, Berlin-based DJ and electronic dance producer Jamie Roberts. He started releasing EPs in 2010 on various labels such as R & S Records and Hessle Audio. His song "Getting Me Down" was named Resident Advisor's best single of 2011. After releasing 15 EPs he finally released his debut album "Wet Will Always Dry" in 2018. Roberts grew up in Barnsley, UK and from an early age was etching out his musical path as a drummer – a relic of the past which should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with his productions. Indeed, his discography as Blawan illuminates a natural fluency for rhythm, whether straight, stridently syncopated, or swinging somewhere in between. His other aliases, Kilner and Bored Young Adults, like his collaborations with Pariah as Karenn and with Surgeon as Trade, have provided additional band
