Vocal Hooked Smash From 2001 Gets Steve Angelo Remix + Original Classic Extended Mix
Basement Jaxx revisit their anthem "Where's Your Head At" with a 2026-ready remix by Steve Angello. The track recharges the big-beat energy of the original, adapting it to today's revived UK bassline club culture – nostalgic yet forward-looking. The release follows Angello's performance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami
Greek-Swedish DJ and producer Steve Angello (one third of Swedish House Mafia) is sure to gather fresh acclaim with his rad new remix of Basement Jaxx's unfathomably catchy UK dance hit 'Where's Your Head At'. This song's a fun case of sample transmission, as the original's descending three-note bass hook was first sampled from Gary Numan's 1979 song 'M.E.' Angello treats his source material with definite care, turning it into a bombastic UK bassline piece with a faint sense of speed garage sprawl, quite reminiscent of Armand Van Helden or Drums Of Death. It first began life as a bootleg, according to Angello: "just out of pure love... getting the chance to come back to it and release it as an official remix honestly means a lot. Full circle."

Basement Jaxx is an English house music duo composed of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe that rose to popularity in the late 1990s. Basement Jaxx started in Brixton, South London, UK in 1994, where they held a regular club night called Rooty, which would later become the name of their second album. The duo got their name from the location of the studio where they recorded their first EP - it was located in the basement of friends of Simon Ratcliffe.
In addition to their own work, Basement Jaxx have become in-demand remixers. Tracks such as 4 My People (which became a massive chart and club hit), Like I Love You and She Wants To Move have all had the Basement Jaxx remix treatment.
