3 Track Prelude - Pumpin Vocal House , Nu Disco With Acid Flavas -
Musician and visual artist Andy Ash has been around for quite some time and may be considered as a „hidden gem“. With his forthcoming album „All The Colours“, this will change! Andy fuses differnet styles from past to present easily and this teaser 12“ is just an small bit of what will blossom on the album. Andy has worked with vocalists, bringing a new dimension to his music. Whether it is the old school inspired „The sound“ which features vocalist Erik Rico, or the deep and moody „I’m Here“ featuring Liverpool vocalist Amber Kuti, these tracks are designed to be played on the dancefloor and bring people together – this is what House Music has always been about!
As the title suggests, this EP acts as a kind of aperitif for Andy Ash's forthcoming album, All The Colours. Unusually, we don't get to hear Ash's original tracks, but rather a trio of remixes. Alton Miller steps up first to give his take on boogie and proto-house influenced number 'I'm Here', where Amber Kuti's delay-laden vocals rise above a deliciously warm, rubbery electronic backing track that adds deep space chords and colourful synth sounds to a rolling deep house groove. Over on side B, we get two takes on Erik Rico hook-up 'The Sound': a pleasingly jacking, early Chicago house-inspired revision from Black Fan rich in jacking drums and bleeping lead lines, and a wonderfully atmospheric, mind-soothing interpretation from Dan Piu that channels the spirit of late '80s Larry Heard productions.
