There is more than one artist with this name: 1) Luciano (real name Patrick Großmann; born January 28, 1994 in Bautzen) is a German rapper from Berlin. The son of a Mozambican father and a German mother, Luciano grew up mostly in the Schöneberg district of Berlin. He is a member of the rap crew Loco Squad Gang. In 2020, Luciano was one of the first high-reach German-language rappers to release music in the internationally successful UK Drill style. 2. Luciano (born Jepther McClymont on October 20, 1964) is a Jamaican Roots Reggae artist. He first begun recording in 1992 under his first name Luciana, with his debut single "Ebony & Ivory" on the Aquarius Record label and followed with his debut album 'Moving Up' for RAS records in 1993. Luciano is the seventh of nine children and was born to extremely spiritual and musical parents while growing up in Daveyton, a small district in the central parish of Manchester, Jamaica. 2) Luciano, born in 1978 in Chile and raised in Switzerland. Started DJing in 1993 and producing electronic music since 1997. In the mid-90's, he was promoting Sense Club and Encuentros con la Technocultura in Santiago de Chile in the company of many initiators of the Latin American electronic music scene: Señor Coconut AKA Atom Heart, Ricardo Villalobos, Pier Bucci, Dandy Jack, Adrian Schopf, Washington Miranda, Argenix Brito, Microman, etc. Luciano left Chile at 21 and moved to Europe (2000), settling in Geneva (Switzerland) to launch Mental Groove Records and holding a residency at the Weetamix club. He gradually invaded the inner reaches of electronic culture, forming a partnership with Ibiza’s most notorious underground club, Circoloco at DC10, which gave Luciano a perfect platform and a passionate audience for his irresistible, mind-altering blend of barebones techno and hot-blooded Latin rhythms. His releases appear on the Transmat, Perlon, Lo-Fi Stereo, Bruchstuecke and Klang Elektronik record labels. Luciano's mixed Swiss & Chilean identity shows in his music, a somewhat mystical blend of deep techno & electro that integrates southern elements in rhythms and colourful patterns in sound. His collaborations with Ricardo Villalobos (Playhouse, Perlon, Warp, Force Inc etc.) as Sense Club are especially rewarding, as is his partnership with Pier Bucci and Argenix Brito as Monne Automne. In the space of two short years Michel Cleis has vaulted from being an unknown producer with a handful of vinyl to his credit to one of the hottest artists in electronic music thanks to a tune called ‘La Mezcla’. Back in 2008 Luciano heard a record that defied categorisation. A sinuous blend of Latin rhythms, tribal drums and an unforgettable Spanish vocal, it didn’t “fit” anywhere – except Cadenza. Luciano signed ‘La Mezcla’ and suddenly the name Michel Cleis was ringing in the ears of Europe’s club cognoscenti, who were dazzled by his unheralded genius. To know Michel is to understand that only he could have made a track like ‘La Mezcla’ because it embodies the richness and variety of his life and music. Born and raised in the Italian part of Switzerland (contrary to some internet reports, he is ‘100% Swiss’), Michel Cleis speaks five languages, and grew up listening to everything from Miles Davis and John Coltrane to the Beatles ,or Italian singer-songwriter Lucio Battisti. As a student in Lausanne, he witnessed the blossoming of house music with artists like Adamski, Robert Owens and Kid Bachelor. Nevertheless, he did not imagine a career in music. “I didn’t know what I wanted to do,” Michel jokes, “But I didn’t want a normal job.” Despite a childhood yearning to become a baker, Michel became a practicing psychologist. His love for music never dwindled, however, and he continued to DJ whenever possible. A fateful basketball game pushed him into production – he broke his leg and was laid up at home for three months. “I was afraid of going crazy,” he recalls, “So I bought a sampler and started playing around with my records.” Michel’s passion and knowledge of music, developed over long years of listening and DJing, came bubbling to the surface and quickly resulted in releases on labels including Rekids, Supplement Facts, Buzzin’ Fly, Aus, Strictly Rhythm and – of course – Cadenza. Michel credits Luciano with championing ‘La Mezcla’ and turning a personal masterpiece into a worldwide hit. “I never expected it,” he says modestly. Always eager to move forward, Michel is currently working on his debut album, which he envisions reaching beyond the confines of the dancefloor. “It won’t be ‘just for clubs’” he assures. There are more than one music group with name Blue Monday. Four of them are mentioned below: 1.) Melodic Straight Edge band from Vancouver BC Canada 2.) Minimalist electro/noise project from Slovakia formed in 2001 3.) The Blue Monday Band, formed in 2022, is a versatile five-piece group from Calaveras County, Northern California, known for their eclectic mix of rock, blues, country, and soul. The band features four talented vocalists, each bringing their own unique flavor to the stage. Drummer Jeff Chadwick anchors the band with his soulful 60s and rhythm and blues influences, while guitarist/vocalist Lance Jakubic adds a rock and blues rock edge. Debbie Patterson, who plays rhythm guitar, bass, and sings, brings a mix of country rock and rock to the lineup. Jerry Patterson, a multi-instrumentalist, adds harmonica, bass, guitar, and vocals, drawing from his love for blues, traditional country, and rock. Rounding out the band, keyboardist Peter Renoir adds rich solos and plays a fusion of rhythm and blues, rock ‘n roll, and country. BLUE MONDAY BLUESBAND With the intention of doing a one-time gig with a bluesband at a local jam session Blue Monday was formed. The audience, as well as the bluesband members themselves were enthusiastic. So, we decided to continue this bluesband; and we did. After a few months of rehearsal on songs by Guy Forsyth, Tommy Castro, ZZ TOP, Mark Ford and many other bluesbands, Blue Monday managed to come up with a varied program. In the past couple of years, Blue Monday has done several gigs in the Dutch blues-scene like, Nixx Bluesclub Enschede, Down Town Gemert, the opening act for Barrelhouse in "de Pul" in Uden, Bluestour in Cuijk, "Drijf in" Bluesfestival in Giethoorn, BLAST Blues in Asten, and many, many more......
