DESCRIPTION:
Vocal House - 4 Remixes - Nicky Night Time and Ali Love have collaborated for a hypnotising new single ‘Ubiquity feat. Breakbot’. Filled with classic disco flair, funk riffs, and infectious vocals the track instantly encapsulates a dreamy dance-floor moment and comes complete with remixes from The Magician, Eric Duncan and Lubelski who all add their signature spark.

With each artist living in a different country, ‘Ubiquity’ has already made its way around the globe, Ali Love explains how the track came together, “‘Ubiquity’ started its life in Australia with Nicky Night Time as a drum and guitar track. Then made its way to London where I added electric bass and vocals very early in the morning. I recall there were about 8 Japanese girls in my flat for some reason, so you could say that really added to the song’s vibe. You can feel there’s a party happening. The tune then travelled to LA where, by chance, Nicky drafted in Breakbot, who wrote the amazing string and horn parts, and sent the song into the stratosphere. The stars have aligned and the vibe is ubiquitous." Nicky Night Time adds “It was a love project really and I think we felt it was a cool thing just to put out into the world between the 3 of us amigos.”

For the remixes, globally renowned producer The Magician adds his signature touch highlighting the original’s funk elements and punchy drums while maintaining the driving bassline from the original. Merging disco with French touch, The Magician accentuates the cut-off and phaser effects for a playful and energetic remix. Next up, Eric Duncan hits with a synth heavy cosmic remix as Lubelski closes out proceedings going for a stripped down, late night shuffler.

You always remember your first time. Not the first time you did it, necessarily, but the first time it really mattered. For Ali Love this came relatively late: he was 23. He'd flirted before of course, with drum'n'bass nights in his mid-teens. But the first club he really loved was Secret Sundaze, a summer party that ran from noon to midnight in various venues in London’s East End. "We'd been up for a few days, and we just stumbled into this club. It's been the closest, in recent years, to the real true acid house experience. Eclectic music, people from all over the world just having a great time under a massive disco ball. I started going all the time. And I got into house music. Deeply into it." He pays tribute to the club with the track 'Secret Sunday Lover', but the whole of his debut album 'Love Music' is a homage to hedonism, to the tingle of anticipation when you're dressing up for a big night out, stepping out into streets heavy with weekend expectation, finding or losing love on the dancefloor – and of course flying to outer space and back, which may be a metaphor for the club experience or just a sign that Ali's other big influence growing up was Star Wars. (He still owns five light sabres, which seems to be rather more than is strictly necessary.) Ali also provided the vocals for the first single, "Do It Again", released from The Chemical Brothers 2007 album "We Are The Night" Love Music will be released early 2008. Look out for his next single, 'Late Night Session', which will be released as a download on September 29th and on physical formats October 8th. Read more on Last.fm. Last FM Information on Breakbot

Breakbot aka Thibaut Berland is a French producer and DJ born in 1981. After studying at the School of Graphic Supinfocom, he made short films (with Oury Atlan and Damien Ferrié called "Overtime."), advertising and videos (David Hallyday - Satellite, Peter von Poehl - The Story of the Impossible). He is also a CG artist with credits including Arthur and the Invisibles. In may 2009 he was signed by Ed Banger Records. Here's his bio on the Moshi Moshi Records site: "Emerging electro wunderkid Breakbot crafts party tunes. Big ones. Following in the footsteps of French electro duo Justice, Parisian Thibaut Berland aka Breakbot has mastered the art of melting together all the best elements of dance, electro and hip hop with skill and precision. And a laptop. Born in 1981, Thibaut was immersed in the sights and sounds of the subsequent decade, and remained appropriately pulled between his love of animation graphics/comics, and music. He chose neither one clear path, nor another. Possessing a degree in computer graphics, and having created his first animation short film co-directed with two friends, Thibaut now makes music videos, commercials and such. By day. By night however, he cooks up choice cut electronic music, experimenting with beats, layers, keyboards, vocals, and Daft Punk-esque get-yo-funk-on basslines."
