AFROJACK FEAT SIMONS, EVA - TAKE OVER CONTROL

Afrojack, aka Nick van de Wall is a Grammy Award-winning DJ from Spijkenisse, The Netherlands. He has gone from strength to strength since starting his own label Wall Recordings back in 2007 which soon accelerated a collection of quality releases from Don't Be to Proper Introduction and Thief. In his field, Afrojack soon became considered as a genius producer and embarked on a series of collaborations with international artists such as David Guetta, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Laidback Luke and Steve Angello to name but a few. It wasn't long until he returned to the clubs in 2008 with Math and Do My Dance and as predicted both tracks were quickly picked up by every big name on the scene. The remix together with The Partysquad, Drop Down (do my dance) was his first hit in the Dutch charts in 2008. Take Over Control the newest member to the ever growing brood of hits looks set to follow in similar footsteps. Afrojack has teamed up with hot Dutch vocal talent Eva Simons. With huge interest and support from major labels stateside and with a tour already completed in the US and in Australia, Afrojack looks set to replicate other breakthrough artists such as Sidney Samson and Fedde Le Grand. Amsterdam-born singer Eva Simons hails from a long line of musicians with a pianist-father, trumpeter step-father, and vocalist mother. According to the Take Over Control Songfacts, her grandfather was accordion player Johnny Meijer (1912–92), who became so famous in Holland, that his hometown of Amsterdam even dedicated a statue to him. She has been playing piano and composing since she was a small child and graduated from the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. Eva Simons was part a girlgroup called Raffish. Together with four other girls, she got a number one hit in the Netherlands called Plaything. She made one album with this girlband, How Raffish Are You? And 2 other singles were released from the album. Thursday´s Child and Let Go. In May 2009 Eva Simons (Zaandam, The Netherlands, 17 March 1985) uploaded her electro-pop track 'Silly Boy' onto Youtube.com. Since then the song has attracted a large online fan community and became one of the most listened to tracks online, generating over 10 million clicks.
