Percussive tech house 4 tracker.

Archivio is a brand new label from a Brooklyn based record store. Affie Ysusf and Parkwalker are the artists charged with starting off this new chapter. Ysusf goes first with 'Uba Cuba' which is a Latin-infused house sound with plenty of layers of drums and lively grooves appearing through the percussion. Parkwalker's 'Pashtwo' then keeps it deep and stripped back but with plenty of style in the deft synth details and on the flip offers the loopy, dubby, airy jam 'Urgez Untold'. Ysusf then closes down what is a fine first EP from this new label with the fresh house grooves of 'Ode Reticular.'

Anchored by Affie Yusuf. Born in Southampton on the south coast of England in the early 1970's, Affie Yusuf has established himself as one of the most influential pioneers of UK acid, techno and house, with a career that spans three decades. Initially a graffiti writer (and still handy with a spraycan today), and deeply immersed in the first wave of electro & hip-hop, Affie's musical roots began in pirate radio - running RASE and ETERNITY radio stations as a teenager, DJing electro and house music on each respectively. He was first exposed to writing music at a local youth project in 1988, getting his hands dirty playing with a Roland D50 & TR505, a Ensoniq EPS and a 4-track recorder. From the very start, he was enamoured with the sound of the Acid House movement coming out of London and Manchester, and in 1990 he acquired TB303 and an Amiga computer running Octamed. In 1993, Affie & Russ Gabriel launched Ferox Records, (the first of many labels to be run by Affie) with the first release being Affie's Acidwaves 01. Ferox went on to be regarded as an institution of British techno, launching the careers of Cristian Vogel, Neil Landstrumm, Ian O'Brien, Mark Broom and many more. Affie released a further two EPs on Ferox before being signed to German heavyweight label Force Inc. The hugely prolific Affie released several EPs on Force Inc. and founded a new label, 909 Perversions, with DJ North, to continue his Acidwaves series of 12"s. He also released an EP of acid on Berlin Records in 1994, and then three further 12"s on Chemical Records. In 1996, Affie released his first full album 'The Volume' on Superstition Records, embracing a more stripped-back techno mentality, after having released a similar styled EP under the alias EF 3.A the year previously. The album was well recieved and helped establish Superstition as one of the worlds most forward-thinking techno labels, with artists Steve Bug, Energy 52, L.S.G. and many more Later that year, Affie Yusuf and Trevor Loveys began House of 909 as a label and production team, and alongside Basement Jaxx were regarded as one of the leading parterships in the UK deep house scene. They released a number of EPs and albums as House of 909, including Future Soul Orchestra, Distorted Jazz, Children We Were, The Main Event, and Soul Rebels. These were extremely successful, and picked up to be re-released by Pagan Records. Throughout the rest of the 90's Affie continued to release techno, house, and acid under numerous monkers, including Lilac Road Productions, Big Screen, The Parkwalker, and more. In 2000, Yusuf & Loveys also released a deep proto-tech house album on Pagan under the alias Traffik, which laid down the style that modern tech-house has developed from. Affie left the music scene for several years in the early 2000's due to health reasons, but returned in 2008 founding the Machines Don't Care collective, alongside Sinden, Trevor Loveys, Toddla T, Fake Blood, Detboi, Hervé, and Drop The Lime. At this time, he and Trevor also launched a new label, Tragic Magic, writing and releasing fidget tech-house & warehouse party tunes. In his third decade as a producer, working with family friend & long time collaborator Mr. C of the Shamen, Affie has returned to the sound he first loved: Acid. He is now resident DJ at London's long running acid house retrospective clubnight 'I Love Acid', contributing to their charity fundraiser album Acid Relief in 2011 alongside LFO, Ben Sims, Luke Vibert, Slipmatt, and Mark Archer of Altern 8. Affie has also established himself as a premier in-demand remixer, engineer, and studio producer, either solo or with longtime collaborator Trevor Loveys; He has had his hand in remixes of the likes of Evil 9, Urban Revolution, GusGus, and many more. Affie has also produced & engineered for Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, Dave Mothersole, Gideon Jackson, Mastik Soul and countless others. ▼ more Sites: MySpace/Houseof909 Aliases: Big screen, EF.3.A, Levi Satchell, Lilac Road Productions, Parkwalker, The, Sian Loves It, Waterboatmen, The In Groups: House Of 909, Machines Don't Care, Traffik, Yusuf & Loveys Variations: All | Affie Yusuf | A Yusuf | A.
