Drum N Bass - Adam F drew inspiration from legendary artists like Lalo Shiffrin, Stevie Wonder, and Quincy Jones, as well as the vibrant Funk era for his monumental track.
“With these influences I set out to create something truly unique.” Looking back on the now towering legacy of the track Adam states: “It's incredibly humbling to think that my work on Brand New Funk sparked a fusion movement within the jungle/drum and bass scene.
Over the years numerous bootlegs of my tracks emerged, showcasing the impact it’s had. However, I'm thrilled to announce that the two new releases we're unveiling are official collaborations - a joint effort between myself and Bladerunner, accompanied by the exceptional skills of another talented mixer who prefers to remain anonymous.
That the word 'funk' should take on an almost entirely new meaning under the aegis of drum & bass is telling, but that shouldn't deter us from interrogating the ideaistic chain connecting the funk of the 1960s and 70s to today's modern, 170BPM+ *neuro*-funk, *drum*-funk etc.. Take, for example, Adam F. His classic track 'Brand New Funk' came about after he bought a second hand Fender Rhodes Electric Piano, Vocoder and Clavinet D6 Honer. All staples of the funk era, the ensuing track paid solid homage to that era, combining compelling collieries with dastard drums and, in so doing, effortlessly fusing the spirit of the former funk with the synaptic sonic overloads of the latter. Now rebooted and revitalised, 'Brand New Funk' bespeaks a timeless retelling of one of Adam F's most ingenious eureka moments.

DJ Adam F (Born in Liverpool, England) is a jungle/drum and bass producer and DJ. His father pop singer Bernard William Jewry, known as Alvin Stardust.
Adam F's breakthrough hit was the techstep single Metropolis/Mother Earth, released in 1997 on the Metalheadz record label. He signed to the EMI label in the UK and in 1998 won a MOBO award for his debut album Colours, containing the UK Top 20 hits Music in my Mind, Circles and Brand New Funk.
He has also found success in the field of hip hop, primarily with his collaborative musical effort KAOS - The Anti-Accoustic Warfare. He has worked with rapper LL Cool J and Missy Elliott. He produced tracks on L.L Cool J's first No:1 USA Billboard album.
He is also founder and co-owner of the UK independent record label Breakbeat Kaos who signed Pendulum and released the platinum selling album Hold Your Colour, as well as singles and albums from Chase & Status and The Brookes Brothers. Adam has composer credits in several films, including "Ali G Indahouse". Adam also has 8 gold discs and 2 platinum awards to date.
