40 Thieves classic hit "Don't Turn It Off" feat. Qzen on vocals gets the 2023 update with new versions by Sweden's finest Bella Boo and professional boundaries pushers Session Victim. Both remixes bring new facets of the original to the forefront and shine new light on this Permanent Vacation classic, which was initially releaseed in 2008.
San Fran sorts 40 Thieves' classic cover of Hot Chocolate's 'Don't Turn It Off' first came out way back in 2008, though it has reappeared at various points since with fresh remixes. Here Permanent Vacation, who originally released it all those years ago, revisit it once more. The Bay Area collective's original mix (B2) remains a 21st century disco classic - a dub disco re-make layered with spacey synths and stylish female vocals - while the new reworks genuinely take it to different places. Session Victim deliver two rubs - a wonderfully glassy-eyed, Balearic-tinged, up-tempo deep house 'Extended Mix' and a sunset-friendly house 'Dub' - before Studio Barnhus sort Bella Boo re-imagines it as a loved-up and spacey blend of nu-disco and rolling electronic house.
