Tremendo (Eduardo López Guerrero), aka Tremendo Menda, is a Spanish emcee born in Terrassa, Barcelona. He belongs to the Barcelona collective Funkomuna.
In 1991, he would assiduously go to clubs like Crom in Terrassa or Soweto in Barcelona. It was there he met artists Juan Solo and DJ Griffi, members of hip-hop group Solo los Solo.
During the 90s, he starts Factor Bass with his friend Giro, and begins composing his own lyrics. At first, they would meet and rap at a bar in Rubí called El Dorado. The group breaks up and Tremendo decides to go solo as emcee Tremendo Menda. He goes on writing lyrics, with J Dilla featuring as his main influence.
His friendship with DJ and producer Griffi leads him to produce Tremendo’s songs at the end of the 90s. In 2000, he releases his first disc on the Avoid label, a 12” titled ‘Vibraciones’, with three tracks: ‘De otro planeta’, ‘Vibraciones’, and ‘La linea’, along with their respective instrumental tracks. He tours Spain presenting these at several concerts. Some will later appear in several hip hop compilations.
In 2001, he joins label Del Palo, owned by Solo los Solo. The label releases his single ‘El loco soy Yo’ in 2004, a simple from his first album, 16-track Vidalogía, Publisher later, in March 2004. This album was highly acclaimed in several media, both for its production quality and for the rhymes.
In 2005, Tremendo works together with hip hop group One Self thanks to their common friendship with Dj Vadim, ex-component of 7 Notas 7 Colores. The track they collaborate on is a remix of ‘Fear the labour’ on the group’s 12”, ‘Bluebird’.
