There are at least 3 different artists called Travel: 1. French DJ Lorren G 2. A band from Stockholm Sweden 3. An ambient band from USA 1. LORREN G (aka Travel) was born in Strasbourg (east of France). -1981 LORREN G. made with his father his first keyboard called FORMAT. -1984 LORREN G. bought is first keyboard CASIO CZ1000 & drum machine BOSS. -1985 LORREN G. bought his second keyboard ROLAND D50 & start to composed music on his ATARI with the CUBASE software. -1986 LORREN G. worked a lot after school for buying a lot of new keyboards and start to play live music and DJ set everywhere in Strasbourg and Germany. He played electro music like FRONT 242, TRISOMIE 21, DIE FORME…. -1987 LORREN G. went to Paris for learning sound engineering in different recording studio like STUDIO MEGA, STUDIO BASTILLE, STUDIO ALTIS. -1988 LORREN G. created his first recording studio and begun to produced music and recording advertising for radio & television. As well he played music everywhere in the club. -1989 LORREN G. met his guitarist and friend NICOLAS DESVERNOIS and he created his first band DEGENERATION ’90. -1990 LORREN G. was N°1 in local radios with his first band. -1991 LOREEN G. created his first label called MOVE THE WORLD and releases these first tracks and remix licensed by ARCADE. -1992 LORREN G. started to play dance music in club and radio. -1993 LORREN G. met a lot of club and radio DJs and start to produced radio mix show and track with them. The recording studio working very well !!! -1994 LORRENG. remixed the track ZHANE “groove thang” and win the MOTOWN/POLYDOR remix game, his remix is the N°1 !!! -1995 LORREN G. met THE MASTERBOYS and produced with them the track BUMP “my name is revolution” licensed by BARCLAY/POLYDOR, big success in club. The follow up came quickly in the same year BUMP “play it again”. -1996 LORREN G. produced THE FUNKY BROTHERS “ge-dang ge-dang” licensed by AIRPLAY/UNIVERSAL , big success in France(N°10 TOP 50),Germany and Asia and licensed all over the world. LORREN G. created his new recording studio and label called DISCOR MUSIC. -1997 LORREN G. produced MOSKITOS “bzzzzzzzzzz” licensed by SCORPIO MUSIC. -1998 LORREN G. produced TRAVEL “Bulgarian” his big success !!! N°1 CLUB in UK, Benelux, Germany, South Africa, Australia. Licensed in more than 25 countries, sold more than 60000 singles and 5 millions of compilation, remixed by the most important DJs like SIGNUM, PAUL VAN DICK, INCISION…and played by the best DJs. LORREN G. is now know all over the world and can start to work !!! -1999 LORREN G. produced a lot of remix for BARCLAY and UNIVERSALE like AMII STEWART “ knock on wood”(N°12 in sales chart), PATRIQUE JUVET “ ou sont les femmes”, Marco V (Duty Free Recording UK) and more…. And, as well he produced several other tracks, the new TRAVEL “pray to jerusalem”, LORREN G. “funk”, CANOVA ”sweetness” and more….. -2000 till 2003 LORREN G. doesn’t stop to produced music and remix like : REACTOR BASS “my name is bass”, STONY FUNKY “You need someone”, BIG FAT “discogogofiesta”, SPIRIT G. “Angel talking to me”, GLOBAL ONE “fantasy”, BIG FAT “hystericogogolove”, SUPASPRING “foot in the water”, BIG FAT “discogogofiesta 2003”, TRAVEL “bulgarian 2003” ,SPIRIT G. “something” and more. They were Mårten Karlsson (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Max Bell (guitar) and Anders Ljung (bass, guitar, keyboards). They recorded 22 songs. 3. Ambient instrumentalists Travel were not only known for their lengthy and detailed songs, but the vastly different opinions that sprouted from their efforts. Accused of merely making disjointed noise by some, while praised as visionary weirdos by others, the music made by multi-instrumentalists Matt Hart, Darren Callahan, Eric Appleby, and Kelly Morelock was always interesting, if nothing else. Delivering their debut, Opus Oil Slick, in 1998, they proved that taking a punk rock sensibility about a difficult genre like ambient rock could pay off as critics argued over the album's merits. The same pattern emerged with the next record (This Is Our ~Music), a similarly praised/savaged album that displayed a slow move toward somewhat normal forms of music.
