Rough Mullar aka Sonorous seems to be the forthcoming man of innovative Trance and House styles and he is from Germany! Back in the middle of the 90’s he started his musical career in Punk and Rock bands as a trained guitar player. Later on he became more interested in Electronic Dance music and began to spin records. At this time he met Ralph Kyau, a Trance music producer for years and a pioneer in the East German Techno scene. These were his first steps toward producing his own music and together with Ronski Speed, a good friend and DJ, Rough Mullar started to build up his own studio. In 1997 Ralph Kyau and Steven Moebius Albert founded their label Euphonic and were looking for fresh innovative stuff and new producers and so Rough Mullar was signed. The first single "Free Love" became a small success in Germany and Switzerland. In 1999 Sonorous' "Did You Ever Dream?" E.P. was released. The title track gained airplay in many countries like Canada, Australia, Israel, Poland and Austria. One of these E.P. tracks was an Ambient track that contains a certain vocal sample. In 2000 Sonorous rediscovered this forgotten tune and created a new more danceable version of "Glass Garden". The first dubplates were spread to some well known DJs. The feedback was amazing and it became a favourite tune of Paul Van Dyk. In october 2000 the British label colourbox released the track in the uk. "Glass Garden" entered the Cool Cuts charts and was played by DJs like Pete Tong, Boy George, Judge Jules, Graham Gold and Dave Pearce. The latest Sonorous single "Protonic" was released in January 2003. The new single "Second Sun" has recently been released on Lost Language Recordings. Sonorous is also a Jazz/funk band from Phoenix, Arizona. In 2009, this band changed the spelling of their name to SUNORUS to avoid further confusion. CHECK THEM OUT AT MYSPACE.COM/SUNORUS :) The third band, which is called Sonorous too, comes from Austria. Four Guys and one young woman are one of the most talented newcomer-bands in Lower Austria.
