"Safar" - or journey - is a Hindi alternative rock band which began its journey in early 2007. The members of this band are in their early 20s and their thought process is a combination of western music coupled with the flavor of Indian classical music -- the end product being an alternative style to Hindi rock. Safar has been formulated after almost a year of research and composition tasks by its members and have surfaced on the Hindi rock stage moving audiences wherever they performed. The new age guitar riffs coupled with groovy base lines, hard hitting drumming, catchy melodic cleans and classical and powerful vocals have captivated audiences wherever they have performed. The essence of the band lies in the fact that they project deep thoughts of their young minds through a language that appeals most -- music -- in a unique new style.
