Karamasov was an Anglo-German four piece art-rock band that formed in London, United Kingdom, late 1997. Drawing on influences of Kroutrock, Jazz and minimal Techno, Karamasov's compliment of electronics, samples and ancient analogue’s is added by warmth from the less predictable addition of live instruments, such as cello and a knack for improvisation, augmented in no small part by the classically trained percussionist Berit Immig, culminated in the release of their first album On Arrival, released on ‘Satellite Records’ in 1998. In early 1999, Karamasov were invited to record 4 tracks: Reaction Man, Fengan Nemo, The Sun Always Shines In Space and Happy Hour , for 'Peel Sessions' at Maida Vale studios. It was during the same year that Karamasov made their second release on Satellite Records: Morgenmuffel – Roadsnack. Their final album release was Divorce Your Loved Ones With Dignity in 2001, again on Satellite Records.
