1) Jason Rowe, who formerly recorded under the name Jai, is a British pop/soul singer currently residing in Berlin, Germany.
Rowe was born in Yeovil, England. He moved to London in the mid-1990s, and began working with producer Joel Bogen. A single, "Don't Give Me Away", was recorded under the name Jai and was released on London indie M&G Records in January 1997. The success of the single in Britain and across Europe attracted the attention of RCA Records, who released Jai's debut album, Heaven, later that same year. The album featured mostly original works co-written by Rowe with Bogen, Christopher Bemand, and Rob Watson, as well as contemporary covers of the Arthur Hamilton standard "Cry Me a River" and J.J. Cale's "Magnolia". The album's single "I Believe" was a minor hit in the United States, and the album peaked at #49 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers Chart.
2) From the mouth of Kirk Franklin, “Jai is the next BIG thing.”
Jai (pronounced Jay), of St. Louis Missouri, is a third generation minister and worship leader who knew at an early age that music would be a part of her life. By the age of nine Jai was a key player in the music ministry and today, with more than 20 years in the field of ministry, Jai has served as: Youth Pastor, Retreat and Conference Facilitator, Speaker, Teacher, Minister of Music and featured guest in churches worldwide including The Potters House led by Bishop T.D. Jakes in Dallas, TX and Pastor Paula White’s Without Walls International Church in Tampa, FL
Jai has enjoyed singing background vocals for Grammy Award winning artists Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary as well as being featured on Grammy nominated records by Lecrae, GMA Dove Award nominated records by Trip Lee and as a solo artist on National and International television platforms such as Daystar and BET.
On her debut, Jai managed to masterfully mix Hip-Hop, CCM, Pop, Praise & Worship, Gospel and Dance Music all in one sitting without compromising the gospel. Many of the songs have cross over appeal and can easily be heard on mainstream radio. Her vocals and heart shine bright on heartfelt songs like Savior, Reflection and You Deserve My All, in which the chorus beautifully boasts: “Open my eyes and I will walk your way yeah, every single day yeah, you deserve my all Lord, you deserve it, Open my mouth and I will shout your praise yeah, louder every day yeah, you deserve my all Lord, you deserve it”.
