Jade Amelia Thirlwall (born 26 December 1992), known professionally as JADE, is an English singer and songwriter whose solo work marks a bold reinvention following her global success as a member of Little Mix. After more than a decade as part of one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, JADE emerged as a solo artist with a distinct artistic vision rooted in theatrical pop, emotional honesty and genre experimentation. In March 2022, JADE signed a solo recording contract with RCA Records, beginning a carefully paced transition into her individual artistry. Rather than rushing into releases, she spent time refining her sound and visual identity, drawing from influences such as Motown, alternative pop, electronic music and classic pop divas. Her solo material is characterised by heightened drama, self-awareness and a sharp balance between vulnerability and spectacle. JADE released her debut solo single, “Angel of My Dreams,” on 19 July 2024. The track was met with widespread critical acclaim, praised for its introspective lyrics, unconventional structure and seamless fusion of pop, electronic and experimental elements. It debuted and peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart, making JADE the third Little Mix member to score a solo UK Top 10 hit, while also becoming the longest-running Little Mix solo release in the UK Top 40. The single was later certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry. Following the success of her debut, JADE continued to unveil the sonic world of her solo era through a series of singles. “Fantasy,” released in October 2024, leaned into disco-influenced pop and sensual escapism, while “FUFN (Fuck You For Now)” arrived in March 2025 as an emotionally charged pop track exploring resentment, forgiveness and emotional distance. In June 2025, “Plastic Box” was released as the fourth official single, expanding the album’s themes of self-image, containment and emotional performance. “Unconditional” was later serviced as a single in select territories, including Italy. Her debut studio album, That’s Showbiz Baby!, was released on 12 September 2025. The album represents a theatrical and self-aware exploration of fame, heartbreak, identity and performance, blending glossy pop with raw emotional storytelling. The project debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart with 23,263 copies sold, securing the biggest opening week for a debut album in the UK in 2025. A deluxe edition, That’s Showbiz Baby! The Encore, was released in December 2025 as a standalone companion project, featuring additional tracks and a cover of Madonna’s “Frozen,” inspired by the dual-release concept of The Fame and The Fame Monster. The album was supported by extensive visual content, including full-album visualizers released on launch day, reinforcing JADE’s commitment to visual storytelling as a core element of her solo artistry. She also announced That’s Showbiz Baby! The Tour, a UK tour set to take place in October 2025, further establishing her presence as a solo performer. JADE’s solo career has been widely recognised for its artistic ambition and cohesion. In 2025, she won Best Pop at the Brit Awards, cementing her successful transition from group member to solo artist. Her work as JADE is defined by control over narrative, a heightened sense of theatricality, and a refusal to dilute emotional complexity in favour of formulaic pop. Before launching her solo career, JADE rose to international fame as a member of Little Mix, who were formed and won the eighth series of The X Factor UK in 2011. During their career, the group sold over 75 million records worldwide, achieved multiple UK number-one singles, and became the first girl group to win the Brit Award for British Group. Little Mix announced an indefinite hiatus in 2022 following the completion of their Confetti Tour. As a solo artist, JADE continues to evolve beyond her origins, positioning herself as a distinctive voice in contemporary pop, defined by artistic risk, emotional intelligence and unapologetic individuality. JADE is a quartet band from the former East Germany. Founded in August 1987 at Fürstenwalde. Their music plays around avantgarde, new wave synths, and alternative rock, all written in English, which is quite rare for GDR artists to write a song in English. The musicians justified their decision to sing in English by saying that the language was more singable and more useful for their goal of conveying emotions and would help reach a wider audience among young music lovers. They got a professional debut in 1989. They usually plays at the workshop week of youth dance music in Frankfurt/Oder.
