In 1999 Bernie Swell sent a track he had just finished recording to Radio Nova, France's avant-garde radio stalton. The music was light drum n' bass and the DF at Nova loved It and gave it instant airplay. One thing leading to another, the song ('Inner lie") eventually ended up on the 1999 catalogue compilation. The french & brltish music press being very enthusiastic about that track, bernle decided to form izdatso as a gathering of musicians & visual artists.
