D12, an initialism for the Dirty Dozen, is an American hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan, formed in 1996. The group originally consisted of Eminem, Proof, Bizarre, Kon Artis, Kuniva, and Swifty McVay. D12 achieved mainstream success in the early 2000s, releasing the albums "Devil's Night" (2001) and "D12 World" (2004), which produced singles including "Shit on You", "Purple Pills", "Fight Music", "My Band", and "How Come". Both albums were certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2004, the group won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Act. Following Eminem's hiatus and the death of Proof in 2006, D12 became less active. Between 2008 and 2015, the group released three official mixtapes with a reduced lineup of Bizarre, Kuniva, and Swifty McVay, while Eminem contributed occasionally alongside former member Kon Artis (Mr. Porter) and 1990s affiliate Fuzz Scoota. On August 31, 2018, Eminem released his tenth studio album "Kamikaze", which included the song "Stepping Stone" in which he stated that D12 was officially disbanded, marking his retirement from the group. Bizarre, Kuniva, and Swifty McVay have continued to tour and record under the D12 name. Read more on Last.fm.
