There are multiple artists using the moniker Cicada; 1) Cicada (蟬樂團) is a five-piece neo-classical instrumental band from Taipei, Taiwan. Formed in 2009, the instrumentation consists of violin, cello, piano and acoustic guitar. The band is named after Cicada because "people are aware of cicada's existence by their sound instead of forms". In 2013, Cicada began to compose for Taiwan. The theme of “Coastland” was the west coastland, and “Light Shining Through the Sea” was inspired by the east coast and the Pacific Ocean. “White Forest” released in 2017 drew inspiration from marine life such as humpback whales, dolphins, coral reefs and sea turtles. Cicada walked into the mountain from the ocean on their 10th year and released the hiking journal “Hiking in the Mist”. In 2022, their focus switched to the valleys and forests. “Seeking the Sources of Streams” comprised moments of roaming the mountains. https://cicadatw.com/ 2) Formed in 1992 in Auckland, New Zealand. They released 1 EP in 1994 and an album in 1997. Though ostensibly a guitar-based rock band they use a wide range of technologies - both modern and 'outdated' - to achieve a distinctive and often ethereal sound. 3) Hiroshi Ogawa, a Japanese electronic musician, DJ and publisher of 1LLUMINATION +. 4) Cicada is a British electronic music group.
