Believers may refer to a number of bands which share the name. 1.) Believers - a bigpop group currently based in Columbia, MO. 2.) The Believers - a soulful roots-country duo based in Seattle, WA. 3.) The Believers - a Chinese punk band 1.) Believers is the long standing, ever-gestating brainchild of Tyler and Wesley Powell. Brothers. They chose to collaboratively pursue this end initially in 2009, changing their lives and moving to Austin together to do so. A year passed with the fruits of their labor proving somewhat abstract and so they put the endeavor to sleep for the time being; Tyler moved to Brooklyn to find design work, Wesley to the Netherlands to design school. After a year of false starts and pragmatic spooks on either side of the Atlantic, both re-realized their hopes and returned to the heart of the heartland, Columbia, Missouri to continue to do what they set out to do. This round they built a band including their cousin Travis Boots and two drummers, Taylor Bacon and Pete Hansen, to help realize their songs. For the last nine months they have been making time to complete their first release, now finally pressed into vinyl. With a drive to achieve the goal in a DIY fashion, they recorded, produced, and mixed the thing themselves at home and at their community practice space, the Hairhole. 2.) The Believers are a band that effortlessly straddles indie rock and alt-Country, converting listeners nationwide in the process. Now on the brink of releasing their third album, Lucky You, The Believers continue to garner praise from all corners of the music world, described as “what Johnny Cash and The Tennessee Three might have sounded like if they’d jammed with the White Stripes” [David Burke, Rock ‘n Reel Magazine] for their tunes that carry the suggestion of X, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and Heart at the same time. 3.) We are the one who forget our rights, Being young, Old logic haunts us when we curse the materialism and conservatism, Broken soul greets brand new life, which rise on the power of the past, We deal with the loneliness and vacuous life, Restlessly! We are distorted! What's our future? Waiting for the mercy of the motherland? No!!! Nobody worries for us! We are our own GOD! We are our own salvation army!!! Destroy the whole world! Destroy us!
