1) Apparition is a symphonic/melodic metal band from the United Kingdom
Adapted from their offical website:
"Apparition were formed in January 2004 in Stafford, UK, but the bands roots goback to 1997 when as Asphyxiator they wrote and recorded the song ‘The Pain Lives On’. This song was a departure from their usual death metal style. David Homer, the writer of the song and bass guitarist, wanted to start a melodic rock band. However this was not possible as singer Rebecca had moved away from the West Midlands area and the rest of the band just wanted to keep ‘The Pain Lives On’ as a one off experimental track. Asphyxiator later split in 1998.
Then on New Years Eve 2003, whilst checking out a notice board in his local music store, Dave saw an advert put up by Jen Lowe, a local girl offering her vocal talents and keyboard/piano skills. Dave contacted her and after meeting they both knew that something special had been formed.
After forming a few ideas and building the basis of a few songs Paul Collins, drummer from past band Asphyxiator, agreed to join Apparition. After then building on the ideas developed by Dave and Jen, Apparition sought a new vocalist and guitarist. After much time searching they welcomed Annabelle Harris and Richard Knight to join the band.
Apparition signed to casket/copro records in January 2006 and their album called "Drowned in questions" was released in April 2006."
Some changes to the lineup have happened since this bio was written. Jen has left the band, & was replaced by Fiona Creaby, ex Liquid Sky on vocals & Ian Bentley on keys.
Also, in Nov 2006, Annabelle also left the band, making Fiona the lead vocalist.

Apparition makes melodic metal. Their most obvious trademark is the contrast in the tracks and the fact that originality and creativity take priority above all else. The combination of varied styles and tastes that influence the different bandmembers has proven to be an extremely fertile mix and has resulted in a very unique sound that juxtaposes melodic atmospheric parts with aggressive and brutal parts and are all put together within a framework of varied drum work, guitar solo’s and vocals.
On stage they explode with energy and enthusiasm and they have enjoyed successful gigs on some of the most prestigious music stages in the country including Muziekcafe De Paap (The Hague), ‘t Paard van Troy (The Hague), Bibelot (Dordrecht) and the Mecca of Dutch Metal, Baroeg (Rotterdam).

4) Apparition is a psychedelic rock band.
This Detroit group released one 45, which includes the song 'Apparition' on the A-Side. Both songs were written by Scott Campbell and Arthur Sokoluk and the single was produced by Campbell. Although issued in 1974, a lyric sheet identifies a 1971 publishing year. An earlier version was released in 1973, first as a 45 and later that year as a 7 inch 33 1/3 rpm EP with "Quandary & Solution" added. The record was shopped to the major labels in September 1974 but without success. A vinyl 12 inch LP is slated for release in 2013 with unreleased and live tracks.

7) Apparition is a hardcore thrash band from Athens, Georgia.
The latest project from Athens punk gatekeeper Griffin, Apparition is loud, fast and fucked up. Its live show is an up-close-and-personal affair, as vocalist Vitale climbs down from the stage and integrates himself with the crowd. Though it was previously only available on tape, the band recently posted its debut demo online. Check your volume before you click play.
