ADOY is an synthpop band from Seoul, formed in 2016. Although it is a brand new band, the members have been entrenched in the music scene for a while. Juhwan (vocals, guitar) and Zee (synthesizer) have attended numerous festivals such as SXSW, CMJ and Summer Sonic, and Dayoung was a part of a team that won the best electronic act at the Korean Music Awards.
In May 2017, the band released its first EP album which was inspired by the band's own memories of youth, 'CATNIP.' It received positive reviews from the Korean media, earning them a nomination for best modern rock song from the 2018 Korean Music Awards, and also topping the Korean indie CD sales chart multiple times.
In June 2018, a year after their debut EP, ADOY released its second EP album, 'LOVE.' After topping the Korean Apple Music electronic chart for both album and song ('Wonder'), the band started to play in bigger, numerous gigs and festivals in and out of Korea. The album was critically acclaimed for keeping ADOY's trademark sound, while venturing into new musical territories, like collaborating with george in the song 'Blanc'.
Towards the end of 2019, ADOY finally released its first full-length album, 'VIVID.' While it contains familiar positive-vibe sounding tracks, it also shows a new side of the band, notably with a collab work with a rapper.
