Seminal Vocal House Smash Repressed on Ltd White Vinyl - First released way back in 1994, Barbara Tucker's 'Beautiful People' is arguably one of the greatest soulful house records ever made. Instantly recognisable thanks to its gospel-influenced chorus and "deep, down inside" vocal refrain, it remains capable of rocking any peak-time dancefloor.
This white vinyl reissue boasts the best of the 1994 mixes. On side A you get the full vocal 'Underground Network Mix' and the blissful, organ-rich, ultra-melodic 'Beautiful Reprise' instrumental. Over on the flip there's a chance to cop Little Louie Vega and Kenny Dope's bouncy, piano-heavy club mix and the peerless, sub-heavy, melody-rich Mood II Swing Dub.

A creation of the master at work himself Mr. Louie Vega, alongside Mood II Swing's Lem Springsteen, 'Beautiful People' is one of those mid 90's NYC jams that ticks all the boxes.
A record that was built for huge sound systems and joyous packed, sweaty dancefloors and one that features the supreme vocal skills of Barbara Tucker in full flow. It has all the trappings of a classic.
The A-side is the same as the original 1994 pressing with the now legendary 'Underground Network' mix opening proceedings, a roof-raising piece of organ led, gospel tinged goodness complete with it's iconic 'deep deep inside, deep down inside' vocal refrain slap bang in the middle for the sample spotters. Also included are the wonderfully stripped back and bumping 'Beautiful Reprise' mix and the original monster 'Club Mix' which sees Louie's MAW cohort Kenny Dope Gonzales at the desk on mixing duties (again, rinsing the amazing 'deep inside' vocal to great effect) and finally, to round off this essential package we are treated to a deep as you like Mood II Swing dub mix that is all swirling pads and organs, taking us into the early hours in style. A more solid and essential repress of a classic record you'd be hard pressed to find!
'Beautiful People' has been skilfully remastered from all original master sources and fully licensed and reissued officially for 2021 courtesy of BMG / Above Board distribution.

Ms. Barbara Tucker was raised in full energy in good old Brooklyn, New York. Raised in the church and still attending is where Ms. Tucker found her love for singing, as well as having a little help from her entertainer Father Jayotis Washington of the well-known group The Persuasions. As an actress, Ms. Tucker has performed in various off-Broadway plays which allowed her to receive the "T.O.R." award through the American Theater for actors for most promising actress with distinguishing artiste. As a dancer, Ms. Tucker has choreographed and danced for various dance artist such as C&C, Soul System, Jay Williams, Dee-Lite and that's just to name a few. Ms. Tucker also had the pleasure of choreographing the First Club Music Award Show and is presently choreographer for The Underground Network Dancers.
As a vocalist, she has recorded and had the pleasure of doing background vocals from Dee-Lite to George Clinton. She has had many underground tunes such as "Set It Off", "Black Deliah Dee", "Open Your Heart", and was featured on "Unity". Currently she's signed to the fab production team Masters At Work - Little Louie Vega & Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez with her classic tunes "Deep Inside", "Beautiful People", "I Get Lifted", "Stay Together" and the more current "Stop Playing With My Mind".
