DESCRIPTION:
3 Track EP Of Minimal Techno / Tech & Acid Licked Tech Grooves Inc Spoken Male Vocal - The product of a songwriting duo in the rich tradition of Tiga/Hulkkonen and Tiga/McCartney, "Stay Cool" marks a return of sorts to the classic Tiga sound, which is now the modern Tiga & Clarian sound. The kinda-underground acid techno grooves and magnanimously biting lyrics paint a picture so contemporary it threatens to make you live in the moment for the rest of your life.

What began organically with Clarian contributing material and production to Tiga's 2016 No Fantasy Required LP has evolved into a contractually-mandated partnership. Having already worked with the likes of Jamie Principle, Felix Da Housecat and Guy Gerber, the Montreal-born musician is no stranger to "the hot collab," but was still taken aback by the rigorously enforced freedom he enjoyed during the "Stay Cool" sessions. "Tiga will be the first to tell you he has no ego in the studio, and in my experience that is the absolute truth," says Clarian. "Every idea I have, every part I write, we split the credit right down the middle."

"Stay Cool" is a real-time disintegration of the boundaries between Tiga's public passion for music and his private obsession with digital entertainment currencies like Quarthonium Bronze and LavaBucks. "It occurred to me that what I could not stop myself from doing - typing 'HOLD YOUR POSITION' over and over in my crypto group chat - also served as an apt illustration of my heroic lifelong wrestling match with the idea of cool. And this epiphany has opened up my experience into a 360-degree panorama of creative possibility," enthuses Tiga. "Soon, I'll be haggling over blueberries at the farmer's market and Clarian will instantly turn in into the sound of the summer, whether you like it or you love it."

"You're So Special" emerged from the songwriting team sitting around the drum machine in shirtsleeves with a pot of piping-hot coffee, waiting for piping-hot inspiration to strike. The lyrics ably grapple with the now, openly wondering about the direction of bleeding-edge compassion. "You see it everywhere, from airport bookstores stocked with variations on The Art of Not Giving a Fuck to airline pilots taking time off to work on themselves mid-flight," hectors Tiga, wagging his finger for needed emphasis. "I don't pretend to have all the answers, but what I also don't pretend to have is patience for those who pretend to do."

Tiga is the stage name of Montreal, Quebec, Canada-born DJ/producer Tiga James Sontag (born 1974). He graduated from Selwyn House School, a prestigious school in Westmount. Before producing music, he was involved in the promotion of rave parties in his native city during the early 1990s, also Tiga was involved in the creation of world renowned afterhours club SONA. In 1994, he opened a record store named DNA Records, and in 1998 founded his own label, Turbo Recordings. Since his rise to success leading into the year 2000 and beyond, Tiga has been ranked the best electro DJ worldwide by DJ ranking polls. Tiga is widely known for his remixes: Tomas Andersson's "Washing Up", Scissor Sisters' Comfortably Numb and Soulwax's "E-Talking" but also for his covers of Nelly's "Hot in Herre", Public Enemy's "Louder than a Bomb", Felix Da Housecat's "Madame Hollywood" and Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night". He produces his own material, but has also worked with Zyntherius, Richard X and Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters. He has frequently collaborated with Mateo Murphy (with whom Tiga forms the duo TGV) and Jesper Dählback, who had produced many of Tiga's newer remixes. Tiga is also good friends with Stephen and David Dewaele from Soulwax, who produced about half of the tracks on Tiga's debut album Sexor. In 2007 he formed a temporary duo with Zombie Nation, under the ZZT-name, they created a trash-hit named "Lower State of Consciousness", which also featured a remix by French hipsters Justice. He made remixes for New Young Pony Club's "Ice Cream" and The Killers' "Bones". He's also working with the Dewaele-brothers on his second album, which will feature more songs in the like of "Far From Home" en "3 Weeks", and less electro-banging sounds, according to the Tiga-podcast. Last FM Information on Clarian

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Rumour has it that while Clarian was institutionalized at a government testing facility somewhere in the North, he began song-writing as an occupational therapy with nothing but an empty room and a broken heart. Clarian was released from the clinic in 2010 through sponsorship by a secret organization for reasons known only to a handful of Swedish chess players. Since then Clarian has established himself as a producer’s producer. His work and musical pursuits have been turning heads and quickly championed by many of today’s music icons and brightest stars. A well respected name in friendly neighbourhood warehouse communities across the world while consistently outputting a stunning array of music productions, collaborations, studio wizardry, and global live performance. Empowering the relenting and working class hums and the cynical grit from exhausted synths, overworked sequencers, and broken tape machines with soft dreams of a faded reality, Clarian’s dreamy noir touch explores and exposes the inner mind vs. the collective through clever music structures and cosmic vibrations designed as a safe haven for all walks of life. Some reporters in Taiwan may have even described it as: "similar to an intensified cannabinoid induced state of a dolphin’s consciousness". Clarian is on the fringe between mainstream bedroom dance music and faking pop, commanding listeners immediately to the dance floor like zombies to brainy beats with his signature electronic poetry. When Clarian is not falling completely off the face of the planet, he’s worked for over a decade as the head studio engineer at North America’s most notorious and sought after electronic music studio: Lost Star Records. In his spare time, he builds his own microphones out of latex and trashed headsets and tests them out on angry alligators and rhinos in uncultivated areas of South Africa against all common sense. He has been consistently touring internationally on pretty much every continent for about 7 years while simultaneously releasing music on record labels such as: Visionquest, Turbo, Life And Death, Rumors and Kompakt. In the summers, Clarian has spent way too much time in weird bedroom apartments in Berlin and hanging out with the ducks across the street from Hardwax checking his balance online for limited editions. Fronting as A&R for Seth Troxler's indie label Soft Touch of the exotic and strange, he serves as the artistic backbone. His latest works include mixing, arranging and producing for Tiga’s most recent album: No Fantasy Required on Counter Records. Read more on Last.fm.
