Sólstafir was a black metal band only on their few first works like on demo "Í Norðri", EP "Til Valhallar" or on the post-rock/punk influenced "Í Blóði og Anda". So, on their recent releases I cannot really call them BM, but, of course, there're left some black influences on this album.
Also (and I think everybody knows that fact), exactly "Köld" brought the fame to Sólstafir, despite of their not less great previous releases. But this album is considered as the most successful in their career nevertheless and, I suppose, quite deservedly. On "Köld" we can hear literally everything and we must value them according to their merits.
I cannot call and I don't want to call album "Köld" Sólstafir's best, but it verily has great tracks like "78 Days in the Desert" with its progressiveness or "She Destroys Again" with its drive inherent in most Sólstafir's songs, or the main Sólstafir's hit called "Love Is The Devil" which will compel you t
