Running your own label is no easy feat and neither is releasing a string of hits, coming up with a new sound and single handedly producing the largest dance events in the country. Well that’s exactly what the Shy Brothers do and now they are ready to take their careers to the next level. With hundreds of shows under their belts, an impressive list of releases and a number of visits to some of the biggest Dance Festivals in the World such as Dance Valley, Defcon and Sound Factory, the Shy Brothers are right on the verge of their international breakthrough. Real-life siblings Mike and Benjamin Shir are the duo behind the Shy Brothers, that part of their name rings true yet their sound is far from timid. Confident, agressive and in your face, the Shy Brothers have shaken up the sleepy western Canadian Club and Rave scene. Their fusion of uplifting trance, dirty electro and raw tech has propelled them to being the top DJ Team in the country. Releasing hit after hit on their own label Solid Records the Shy Brothers are raising the eye brows of some of the biggest names in the industry. Not to mention the fact that they have had their own tracks remixed by the likes of Scot Project, Stone Face and Terminal, Dumonde, DJ Choose and many others. They also carry an impressive resume of their own remixes. Their production company, Solid Entertainment has hosted almost every possible big name DJ you could imagine at their massive one of a kind events in Vancouver. Through these events, they have had the opportunity to share the stage, their sound and own productions with thousands of party goers. Events such as Dooms Night, International Music Festival, Fusion Dreams and Insomina regularly draw an attendance of up to 5,000 people at these epic, mind-blowing, laser drenched events. Gathering momentum with each release they are becoming recognised as one of the most exciting talents in tech-trance today, with critically acclaimed and top-selling tracks such as ‘My Mind’, ‘Good Morning’ and ‘Electrified’. The door began to open further in early 2007 with ‘Midnight FUNK!’ which was supported the world over with plays on Radio 1, Kiss FM and di.fm. This track also earned them a 4 star review in IDJ and the 2 spot on Juno Records Best Seller charts. Having had their tracks remixed by the likes of Scot Project, Stone Face & Terminal, Re:Locate, Igor S., their music has also been supported by some of the biggest names in Dance Music today.
