Last FM Information on Kelly Wilde

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Originally from a small suburb in Sydney, Kelly’s life in show business began at the age of 6, when she could be heard above everyone else singing in the local church choir! Her early years were spent taking part in talent shows and various children’s TV programmes. After spending half her teen years at the Australian Conservatorium of Music and a spell at Stage School, at the age of 16, Kelly left her homeland and moved to the Far East. Being in a foreign country, miles away from anything that was familiar to her didn’t knock Kelly’s ambition and almost immediately, she found herself performing in all the major clubs and hotels across Singapore. Before long, people were talking about ‘the young Australian girl with the big voice’, and Kelly was soon touring across the whole of the Far East, The Middle East and South East Asia as a solo performer. Having established herself as a well known artiste, Kelly was approached by a Far East based Record company and teamed up with another artiste to record the track ‘Body Language’. The promotion of this single brought Kelly over to the UK and over the next few years she continued her successful stage show touring extensively across Europe. On returning to London, Kelly was embroiled in a very highly publicised bidding war by some of the country’s leading record companies with ‘Bolts Records’ finally winning the battle. Kelly was signed, and her debut release, ‘Nothin’ But Promises’ gave Kelly her first Top 20 British Hit single. This was very quickly followed by her version of the song ‘Gloria’. Despite being recorded by other artists through the years, it is the Kelly Wilde version that is the most frequently requested and played track to date. In between her performing, Kelly founded what is today one of the UK’s leading entertainment agencies. Dance Crazy Management boasts some of the industry’s biggest names and are responsible for booking the largest venues and the majority of the Gay Pride events and Festivals in the country. On top of all this, in 1990 Kelly was chosen by the UK’s Selection Committee to take part in the National Finals of the Eurovision Song Contest for BBC1. She narrowly missed out with her emotional performance of the power ballad ‘You’d Better Be Good To Me’, but on the back of this, the song got a National release giving Kelly yet another hit record. Kelly was by now proving herself a force to be reckoned with inside the music industry and Her love of performing became forefront in her priorities, making Kelly a firm favourite on the Club Scene both in London and all over Europe. Having worked all over the world, Kelly’s knowledge of foreign languages is vast. Being able to sing in 15 different languages proved a very useful trait when she performed at Heaven Nightclub on an evening to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The entire audience were from the Far East, and Kelly sang the full show in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indonesian dialects to name but a few! All of this, plus countless recordings for compilation albums and dance mixes, make Kelly Wilde a favourite for any event whether it be one of her regular club visits, or one of the major Pride Festivals where she appears on main stages all over the world. Some of these include Sydney Mardi Gras, Amsterdam/Euro Pride and London Pride where she recently hosted the event in front of an audience of over 40,000 people in Trafalgar Square. Kelly has appeared on various TV shows and films, and was recently seen on the hit ITV show ‘Britains Got Talent’ by millions of viewers, further enhancing her profile. Further TV offers are looming, plus there is a Greatest Hits album in the pipeline, and new tracks are currently being recorded. As they say.....’Time Stands Still For No-One’.....It certainly doesn’t for Kelly Wilde, and the future looks set to just get even bigger. Read more on Last.fm.
