2 Quality Redid/ Reworks Inc Unreleased Version Of Prince
Chicago DJ & edit expert Jamie 3:26 presents the first release on his own 326 Records, a disco / house double header which perfectly captures the original house sound of the Windy City. The party starts with Jamie's stumbing, rumbling, rattling and battering rework of the 1976 Pyramid Records classic, "Sun Sun Sun" by Jakki. Focussing on the percussion breaks and yelped female vocals, Jamie gets to looping, transforming the cut into a slamming Ron Hardy style banger , perfect for deployment in the basement. A tasty EQ makes the kick thump and the hats hiss, making this way trackier than your run of the mill disco edit - impressive stuff. Over on the flip, Jamie works his magic on the Purple One, dropping the tempo and upping the beats on the Paisley rarity "Purple Music". Once again, well chosen loops, subtle percussion and a killer arrangement win out, making this purple vinyl pounder a winner for Rahaan, Theo, Marcellus Pittman and Moodymann. DJ
