Last FM Information on General Grant

Please note the information is done on a artist keyword match and data is provided by LastFM.
Grant was among some new artistes who stood out when Robert Amar and Caribbean Sound Basin gave them a break at recording and performing back in the 80's. Trinidad-born General Grant began his career as a toaster and DJ at various performances in his native land. Later expanding into reggae and hip-hop on releases including 1998's Mr. Energizer, his sound also included elements of soca, dancehall and Caribbean rhythms. It was at CSB Grant wrote and composed hits like Shot Call, Pure Hate, Chunkalunks, Soca Bill Board, among other pieces of dancehall music that saw him reach the BillBoard Chart and hit Black Entertainment Television (BET) Sound Stage. He did collaborations with soca superstar Machel Montano, Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon, Kurt Allen, the late chutney icon, Sonny Man & has a collaboration rocking the airwaves with Farmer Nappy from the HD family. Grant was also featured on American Rhythm and Blues (R&B) singers Toni, Toni, Toni’s album, while also doing a remake of the Four Top’s Ain’t No Woman. No one can keep a good man down for too long - the old soldier is back. The undisputed ragga soca king of Trinidad & Tobago who has undoubtedly paved the way for those who are respectfully on top of their game. Under not so new management as Wendy H Lewis was General Grant's European Manager from 1990-1998, now residing in Trinidad, Wendy H Lewis under Khalabash Entertainment would now be managing General Grant full time.
