4 Track EP OF Classy Italian Re-edit Action Funk Soul Afrobeat & Balearic Flavas on this Eclectic Debut Offereing
Balearic and cosmic-minded rework series shrouded in mystery = Belpaese. Hailing from Italy, these sophisticated groove merchants trade in the freshest cuts, meaty like prosciutto, crisp like a fiano. If you're looking for the finest in disco, Balearic and Italian exotica, you're in luck. The party starts with the swinging disco funk of "Sentimento", a sunkissed floorfiller which serves us infectious female vox and bright horns over a loose and limber rhythm section. The tempo takes a leap for "Ancora Piaccio" on the A2, a housed up bit of Italian disco with a swelling sing-a-long chorus and the kind of half rapped lyrics you only get from the continent. "Di Chi Sei" wraps us in a sweet Balearic breeze on the B1, winding its hips with exotic synth melodies, seductive vocals and a bossa-ish beat, managing to sound more like an Italian Sade than the great Linda Di Franco. The Balearic mood continues with the wonky cosmic funk of grand finale "Para Para", a chugging and chunky slice of Mediterranean fun which sounds like a waaay sleazier version of the Bee Gees.
