DESCRIPTION:
3 Track EP OF Nu Disco / Funky House & Deep House Grooves

House of Disco return with a pair of funk fuelled cuts from Aroop Roy with Japan's Brisa contributing a deep and percussive remix. Based in London, Aroop Roy's take on electronic music involves blending elements of jazz, Afro, Latin and funk with disco and house. Roy's releases have landed on Freestyle, Gamm and Basic Fingers, and most recently on the hugely successful Kampana Classics EP.

His multi-genre spanning influences can be attributed to his wealthy experience playing around the globe, including previous residencies in London, Geneva and Tokyo.
Renowned taste makers Gilles Peterson, Francois K, Karizma and Rainer Trueby are only a few names from a swelling list of supporters and their seal of approval is a clear
testament to his studio abilities.

‘Talkin Bout Life' demonstrates Roy in fine form as it subtly builds into an essential party anthem. Jazzy keys, a soulful guitar lick and a dusty breakbeat are brought together by a war

Aroop Roy is a producer, musician and label head, who joins the dots between electronic music and borderless organic sounds. From house, disco and techno to jazz, funk and Afrobeat, he has enjoyed universal acclaim as a producer and DJ. Aroop's eclectic productions have become a mainstay for DJs across scenes and generations, with Gilles Peterson calling him 'a brilliant producer, who never fails'. In recent years, he has been high in demand as a remixer, working for both underground and major labels. Like his productions, his sets are full of personality and style and have earned him a growing reputation as a uniquely gifted DJ. In 2022, he closed We Out Here Festival with Mr Scruff who described Aroop as a 'ridiculously skilled selector, musically able to move in any direction with ease'. As an eclectic digger and tastemaker, he has recorded guest mixes for the likes of Gilles Peterson, Freerange Records, CO-OP, Jazz FM and BBC 6 Music's Craig Charles Funk & Soul show. In 2023, Aroop is enjoying huge momentum, fully booked through to summer 2023, with headline sets at Fabric, Printworks, Defected Croatia, Hi Ibiza and Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival all in the diary as well as being invited by the legendary Mr Scruff for a B2B tour. He has forthcoming EPs on Mele's Club Bad label and Jimpster's Freerange records, as well as several big remixes. Aroop's label Vive La Musique has focussed on quality over quantity, with reissues and reworks of rare eclectic sounds from around the world from Caribbean zouk and Congolese Rumba to French jazz-fusion and South soul. All releases have been celebrated by major tastemakers across the scene with the latest offering "In the Fast Lane" receiving rave reviews for uncovering the historical connections between french virtuoso Jean-Luc Ponty and the Detroit techno movement.
