Lush Deep House / Nu Disco Cuts with Gospel Flavad A Side & Deeper Nu Groove style Flip - Nice

Kampana delivers once again with a pair of dance floor gems that will please lovers of funk, disco and gospel alike. On the A-side, Aroop Roy means serious business with 'Reason to Dance'. Driven by an outrageous slap bass, infectious horn stabs and a limb-shaking vocal refrain, it's no surprise that this has been THE secret weapon of his recent sets around the world. On the flip, Detroit native Peter Croce, fresh from the huge success of his Razor-N-Tape EP, comes in equally strong, with the gospel-fuelled disco cut 'Just Like Heaven'. The track builds patiently, lingering on a raw disco groove, honing in on a powerful brass section and spirit-lifting vocals, and eventually climaxing with epic strings and thunderous piano.

There's been a keen demand for this one after Artwork dropped it at his XOYO residency in London to wild scenes!

Aroop Roy is a producer, musician and label head, who joins the dots between electronic music and borderless organic sounds. From house, disco and techno to jazz, funk and Afrobeat, he has enjoyed universal acclaim as a producer and DJ. Aroop's eclectic productions have become a mainstay for DJs across scenes and generations, with Gilles Peterson calling him 'a brilliant producer, who never fails'. In recent years, he has been high in demand as a remixer, working for both underground and major labels. Like his productions, his sets are full of personality and style and have earned him a growing reputation as a uniquely gifted DJ. In 2022, he closed We Out Here Festival with Mr Scruff who described Aroop as a 'ridiculously skilled selector, musically able to move in any direction with ease'. As an eclectic digger and tastemaker, he has recorded guest mixes for the likes of Gilles Peterson, Freerange Records, CO-OP, Jazz FM and BBC 6 Music's Craig Charles Funk & Soul show. In 2023, Aroop is enjoying huge momentum, fully booked through to summer 2023, with headline sets at Fabric, Printworks, Defected Croatia, Hi Ibiza and Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival all in the diary as well as being invited by the legendary Mr Scruff for a B2B tour. He has forthcoming EPs on Mele's Club Bad label and Jimpster's Freerange records, as well as several big remixes. Aroop's label Vive La Musique has focussed on quality over quantity, with reissues and reworks of rare eclectic sounds from around the world from Caribbean zouk and Congolese Rumba to French jazz-fusion and South soul. All releases have been celebrated by major tastemakers across the scene with the latest offering "In the Fast Lane" receiving rave reviews for uncovering the historical connections between french virtuoso Jean-Luc Ponty and the Detroit techno movement.
