There are at least thirteen bands/artists with the name (band name) NINA: (1) Nina Cristante is an Italian-born, London, UK based artist, musician, nutritionist & personal trainer. She frequently collaborates with Dean Blunt. Cristante released her debut album, "Complications," in May, 2017, which was quickly removed from her Bandcamp. Songs from "Complications" reappeared on the Hype Williams album Rainbow Edition, released on August 26, 2017. Nina is also an active member in bar italia. (2) Nina Boldt known mononymously and professionally as NINA (born 29 September 1983) is a German singer-songwriter based in London and Berlin. Her music is a fusion of Pop, New Wave, and Electronic music. She released her debut album Sleepwalking in 2018 and her follow-up album Synthian in 2020. Her third major release Control (feat. Laura Fares (LAU) was released as an EP via Lakeshore Records and features samples from Cliff Martinez' Drive film score which ultimately began a modern revival of the cliche 1980s music, art and graphics scene. (4) NiNa are a six-piece group formed in 1999 containing Kate Pierson (a member of the B52s), bassist Mick Karn (from the British group Japan), vocalist YUKI (from the Japanese rock band Judy and Mary), Takemi Shima and Masahide Sakuma, Japanese musicians from the Plastics, and Steven Wolf, the session drummer. Sakuma Masahide composed most of the music with input from Pierson and Yuki who also wrote the lyrics. From the 30-second opening track, which starts with ominous techno music and ends with Yuki and Pierson exclaiming "Hello everybody nice to meet you we're NiNa," the band's eponymous and only album is very diverse. The distinctive album contains a wide variety of music from straight forward ballads to electronica. Credited as a "conceptual and visual agent provocateur", Shima appears to have played a Brian Eno-like role on the recording. Her renowned mentor, Harry Whitaker (music director for Roberta Flack & Roy Ayers Umbiquity) debuted NINA’s career by having her sing with his trios in some of Greenwich Village’s top jazz venues while only a young teen. (11) Nina is a Malagasy Salegy artist. (12) Nina Radojičić is a Serbian Doctor of Pharmacy, researcher and part-time singer, known by her nickname Nina.
